Connecting young people with sound opportunities

AMP: Plugged In

Age group: 11-25 years

Location: Online and in person at various locations across North Yorkshire

What is AMP: Plugged In?

Age groups: 11-14, 14-17, 18-25

AMP: Plugged In is our youth led programme for those aged 11-25, but we split activities across three different age groups. Over the year, we run various different programmes designed to support young people to develop new skills in the world of music, sound and creative careers.

AMP: Plugged In Producers

Ever wanted to host your own gig series or put on your own music festival?

Each year we host this programme for creative and ambitious 18–25-year-olds who live in or close to North Yorkshire to fill six exciting paid roles across our AMP: Plugged In Producers team. Working together you’ll each play a part in creating a day long festival or event series that represents what excites you in music across North Yorkshire right now.

If you’re passionate about music, journalism, marketing, communication or education, then this programme could be for you. To find out more about each role visit our news page or follow @pluggedin_AMP on Instagram for upcoming opportunities.

Have any questions? Contact our Programme Manager, Teah: [email protected].

Did you know, one of last year’s team has made a brilliant podcast series featuring artists who performed at their festival ‘Come As You Are’, you can listen here:

PODs (Professional Development Opportunities)

PODs are workshops or short courses designed to introduce different skills to our AMP: Plugged In participants.

These workshops are designed in collaboration with young people, and topics are chosen based on what young people tell us what they want to see!

In the last year, this has included areas such as song writing, DIY Festivals, podcasting and more.

Do you have an idea for a POD, is there something in music, sound or creative careers you really want to know more about? Drop Teah and email on [email protected] OR DM us on Instagram at @pluggedin_AMP to share your ideas.
