AMP: Plugged In

Our Youth-led programme for under-25s

AMP: Plugged in is our youth-led programme for those aged 11-25. Activities are split into three different age groups (11-14, 14-17 and 18-25) and over the year we run various different programmes designed to support young people to develop new skills in the world of music, sound and creative careers.

We embed youth voice into all our programmes. AMP: Plugged In offers young people the chance to make a real contribution to AMP’s work, while gaining skills which they can use in their education and future career. AMP: Plugged In offers a young Producers’ programme, as well as regular skills developments and opportunities.

AMP: Plugged In Producers

Each year we host a programme for creative and ambitious 18–25-year-olds who live in or close to North Yorkshire to fill six exciting paid roles across our AMP: Plugged in Producers team. Past teams have hosted series of gigs and put on music festivals.

The teams work together to play a part in creating an event that represents what excites them about music in their home region. Participants gain experience of music programming, journalism, marketing, communications, education and more.

Want to hear more? One of last year’s team has made a brilliant podcast series featuring artists who performed at the AMP: Plugged In team’s festival ‘Come As You Are’.

PODs (Professional Development Opportunities)

PODs are workshops or short courses designed to introduce different skills to our AMP: Plugged In participants. These workshops are designed in collaboration with young people, and topics are chosen based on what young people tell us what they want to see. In the last year, this has included areas such as song writing, DIY Festivals, podcasting and more.
