This is the Come As You Are Podcast, a brand-new show placing the spotlight on the next generation of talent emerging from the alt/indie/punk scene across Yorkshire. Having recently performed at the Come As You Are Festival, each artist has been in conversation with our journalist, Emily, to reveal everything from their journeys into music to who their biggest influences are.

Join us as we hear from Tymisha, Lucy Austin, The Marble Arches and Django Jones and The Mystery Men!

Episode 1: TYMISHA

First to join us is Tymisha (TYMISHA (@_tymisha_) • Instagram photos and videos), who discusses the empowering message behind her debut song ‘Avangeline’ which featured on BBC Introducing Humberside. As well, she discusses how soul and jazz influences her musical style and why Alice Clark would be the artist she would love to open for.

Episode 2: LUCY AUSTIN

In this episode, we are joined by Lucy Austin (Lucy Austin (@lucymusicyork) • Instagram photos and videos, a talented singer/songwriter who talks to us about the inspiration behind her first debut single ‘You’ as well as how the Artist Development Fund has supported her journey, and how an afternoon busking led her to perform at a wedding!

Episode 3- THE MARBLE ARCHES

In this episode, we talk with Harry from The Marble Arches (The Marble Arches (@themarblearches) • Instagram photos and videos). With two EPs already released, we delve into the making and meaning behind songs ‘Johnny Galecki’ and ‘Vector’ and how they earned a spot on the Bingley Weekender line-up alongside stars including Miles Kane and Echo and the Bunnymen.

Episode 4- DJANGO JONES AND THE MYSTERY MEN

For our final episode, we are joined by Will and Joey from our festival headliners Django Jones and The Mystery Men ( Django Jones (@djangojonesandthemysterymen) • Instagram photos and videos ). Tune in to hear why they would like to perform with Taylor Swift and Hannah Montana, as well as discuss the time Will saw Jack White in a record store!
