AMP Producers + PODs

Our Youth-led programmes for 11-25s

We embed youth voice into all our programmes, offering young people the chance to make a real contribution to AMP’s work, while gaining skills which they can use in their education and future career. We offer an AMP Producers programme, as well as professional and skills development opportunities, which we call PODs.

AMP Producers (18-30 years)

Every two years, we host a programme for creative and ambitious 18–30-year-olds who live in or close to North Yorkshire. It’s called AMP Producers and it’s designed to support young people to develop skills for creative industries through paid work. Participants produce their own event, with support from training, industry mentorship and the AMP team. AMP Producers are given a budget to work on their event which they build from the ground up. This might include booking venues, deciding what genre or artists will be featured, managing ticketing, marketing the event, designing posters and more.

With AMP’s support, the goal is that participants get to create an event that represents what excites them about music in their home region. For us, it is vital that this opportunity is paid. One, because it means that having to work for free will not be a barrier to anyone. Two, because this is work experience that we hope will be valuable additions to your CVs and portfolios.

PODs (Professional Development Opportunities) (11-25s)

PODs are workshops or short courses designed to introduce different skills to young people across North Yorkshire. These workshops are designed in collaboration with young people, and topics are chosen based on what young people tell us what they want to see. Previously this has included areas such as Tour Management, DIY Festivals, podcasting and more.

These can be group sessions (in-person in North Yorkshire or online), but sometimes we run grant schemes that allow space for 1:1 training and mentoring for individuals with a specific ambition to develop a certain skill set.
