New Chair for AMP

We’re very pleased to announce that Sarah Baumann will be our new Chair of trustees, taking over from Eleanor Gill.
Sarah has been a board member since 2019. Outside of AMP, she is Chief Operating Officer at Brass Bands England, where she has led on many educational arts projects with young people.
Sarah said:
“Since joining the board of trustees in 2019, AMP (formerly NYMAZ) has grown and evolved from a music charity working for young people in North Yorkshire to a national industry leader in Youth Voice with young people at its core. What AMP looks like in five years’ time is in the hands of the young people we work with, and I am honoured to be taking over as Chair at such an exciting time in the charity’s history to ensure we can fulfill their vision and needs.”
AMP would like to thank Eleanor for her incredible support as Chair since 2019 and as a board member since 2017. Eleanor said:
“Since I joined NYMAZ (now AMP) as a trustee in 2017 it has been great to see youth voice become more embedded in the charity, both in expanding its youth networks and establishing young trustee Board representation. I became chair in 2019 and I’m particularly proud of the way the organisation rose to the challenges of the pandemic. The staff team were resilient and tenacious, quickly adapting to new circumstances and supporting other arts organisations by sharing digital expertise.
It has been very pleasing to receive excellent feedback from our funders in recent years. One of our objectives was to complete organisational development and I’m delighted to support the brand relaunch and wish AMP every success in future.”
All the team at AMP are thrilled to be working with Sarah and the board to take forward the programme we begun as NYMAZ, and are excited to continue our work putting young people at the heart of decision-making.
